Recent Suffolk Status: Local. Evidence of a recent decline and is no longer commoner than Beautiful golden Y in Suffolk.
Life history: Single-brooded. Seen at light in small numbers.
Identification: More redder in colour than the similar Beautiful golden Y and the kidney mark isn't gold-edged so is indistinct. The golden Y mark is usually broken. Silver Y is usually a much greyer moth.
Habitat: Woodland, hedgerows, gardens.
