Morley's Final Catalogue: Not known from the county in Morley's time. First Suffolk record was in 1967.
Recent Suffolk Status: Very local and rarely seen. Records from two areas - Redgrave Fen and Minsmere/Blythburgh.
Life history: Single-brooded. Seen at light in small numbers in the correct habitats.
Identification: Similar to the commoner Gold spot. Lempke's Gold spot is smaller, more lighter orange brown in colour and the elongated silver mark at the tip of the forewing ends bluntly, not in a point like Gold spot. Both species vary quite a lot and dissection may be necessary in some cases to separate the two.
Habitat: Fens, reedbeds.
