Nayland; Copdock at light, and eggs in Bentley Woods (Hkg); on oak-trunks there in mid-May 1925 (Mly). Bramford and Helmingham in 1900 (Sparke); Needham (L); Henham, Sotterley; Flixton and Worlingham.

Recent Suffolk Status: Locally common although scarce in high Suffolk and in the north-east.

Life history: Single-brooded.

Identification: Easily identified on size. Could possibly be confused with Lobster Moth.

Habitat: Mainly Oak woodland.
