Morley's Final Catalogue: A very resplendent and local species through the southern half of England in late June ; ' Suffolk' is one of the counties it patronises (Meyrick).

Recent Status: Rare. A few recent records from VC26. The species is found in Norfolk Broadland.

Life Style: A single brooded fenland species that flies between May and August. The larvae mine a variety of Gramineae, including Phragmites, Phalaris, Anthoxanthum, Schedonorus, Milium and Hierochloe. They hibernate away from the mine and pupate in the year following oviposition.

Identification: Cosmopterix species require careful examination of the patterning to separate the species. The large basal patch is the key to this species. The larvae mine long narrow galleries and may move between plants. More Info
